She said that she really liked the idea. She has been in my school for about 6 years now and is so used to the way things are that she is sick of the PTA.
She has been to a meeting and one of the biggest problems in her opinion is the way the meetings are run. There is no set agenda, or there is one that is ill formed. Maybe the collaboration of a teacher and a parent and the use of Robert's rules might help?
PTA is a national organization and they will help with leadership training, at least they use to. I haven't been involved for a few years, but I was able to get ideas and help. The teacher who is discouraged should probably speak up rather than complain (yes, I'm making an assumption that she hasn't) and help those in leadership be leaders. All part of the communication.
